Guest Area

The communal guest area offers a mix of open, interactive and private areas including a huge sunken fire-pit with built-in seating and a reed boma for evening meals.

If you’re a keen photographer, it’s a good idea to keep your camera handy as it’s not uncommon for hippos, giraffes or feisty warthogs to make surprise appearances. As the saying goes, you can always “Expect the unexpected’.

Food & Dining

Dining is a central part of the experience, combining refined cuisine with the atmosphere of the African bush. Menus change daily and blend modern culinary techniques with local South African flavours, using fresh and seasonal ingredients.

Meals are thoughtfully woven into the rhythm of the safari day. Served in a variety of settings from the lodge’s river-facing dining areas and outdoor decks to traditional firelit boma’s, or privately on the deck of your suite, creating dining experiences that is both relaxed and quietly memorable.

A well-stocked bar and mixologists provide craft cocktails, local gins, curated premium wines, while the kitchen caters to a wide range of dietary preferences and requirements.

Wellness & Activities

Keeping fit and relaxed is easy with a visit to the pristine well-being area, where you can indulge in a workout or swim a few lengths in the centrally-located outdoor pool.

We encourage guest participation in the variety of activities on offer so you can make the most of your time in a truly immersive way. You are free to choose from ever-exhilarating sunrise or sunset drives across 10 500ha of pristine wilderness, or alternatively the interpretive bush and nature walks and star gazing. Birdwatching is another popular choice with over 500 species to be found. Chat to your lodge manager or guide to get a better idea of what’s on offer and suitable for the current weather.

It is a quiet luxury to find that your only decisions are selecting handcrafted treasures from the Safari Shop or choosing the perfect moment for an aromatherapy massage.
