Our Lodges & Camps
Our lodges and camps each offer distinctly different expressions of the wild, ranging from down-to-earth traditional style to nostalgic charm and contemporary sophistication, each featuring evocative elements that reflect the environmentally mindful design.
LODGES
Tengile River Lodge and Rattray’s Lodge offer splendid isolation, generous proportions and magnificent interior design. Each suite opens directly onto the iconic river, where the water transforms the bush experience, attracting the widest diversity of animals and birds, like no other.
Guests get closer to nature in private plunge pools, indoor and outdoor showers and observe from spacious living areas. Game drives are intentionally intimate, enhancing the classic rhythm of safari.
Camps
MalaMala Camp, Sable Camp and Kirkman’s Kamp are renowned for their classic safari atmosphere, rooted in heritage and connection to the land.
Overlooking the Sand River, each balances comfort with immersion, with spacious communal areas and a relaxed pace that feels true to the setting. Each reflects the distinctive beauty of the immediate environment.

Choosing the right lodge or camp
Tengile River Lodge is a contemporary, design-focused safari lodge in Sabi Sand with nine large suites and private plunge pools overlooking the Sand River. Rattray’s offers eight villa style suites with a strong sense of MalaMala history and seclusion. MalaMala Camp and Sable Camp are more classic, story-rich safari camps on the river, while Kirkman’s Kamp is a 1920’s homestead style lodge. Our latest project, to be launched as Khensani River Lodge will introduce an ultra private villa concept ideal for families and high net worth groups. Visit our accommodation
For first time safari guests looking at Greater Kruger or Sabi Sand, each experience can be tailored according to the guest’s individual interests, preferences, and budget, as well as whether they are celebrating a special occasion during their stay. Our team works closely with guests and trade partners to curate the most suitable options, ensuring a personalized and memorable experience. Whether they’d prefer a more classic safari feel with a welcoming and sociable atmosphere (this would include MalaMala Camp, Sable Camp and Kirkman’s Kamp), or if they’d prefer an experience that offers a more elevated sense of privacy and refined design, that appeals to guests seeking exclusivity (Tengile River Lodge, Rattray’s or the new Khensani River Lodge). Please visit our contact page and we will respond to help you build an itinerary.
Kirkman’s Kamp and MalaMala Camp can take children of all ages. Rattray’s is great for intimate exclusive use groups with children over 16 years. Sable Camp and future Khensani River Lodge work very well for multi-generational or friends and family groups seeking semi-exclusive or wholly exclusive use. Tengile’s Family Suite and the family cottage at Kirkman’s are ideal for smaller family parties.
Tengile River Lodge has nine suites, including one family suite. Rattray’s has eight suites. MalaMala Camp includes ten luxury suites, eight luxury rooms and one single room. Sable Camp offers seven suites, including the two-bedroom Lion’s Den. Kirkman’s Kamp has twelve cottages, one of which is a family unit. Khensani River Lodge will open with nine suites.
